UPM Raflatac has acquired Metamark, a UK-based manufacturer and distributor of graphics solutions, for GBP 146 million (approximately Euro 175 million). The acquisition enhances UPM Raflatac’s graphics business, expanding its product portfolio and international reach. Metamark’s annual sales total GBP 65 million, and the company employs approximately 185 people. The transaction aligns with UPM Raflatac’s strategy to accelerate growth in high-value graphics applications, according to the company’s announcement.
Metamark produces self-adhesive color films, print films for large-format printing, laminates, and wrapping films used in signage, advertising, and vehicle wrapping. The company operates a manufacturing site in Lancaster, UK. UPM Raflatac’s graphics division was established after acquiring AMC AG’s graphics business in 2022 and further expanded with the acquisition of Grafityp in 2024.
UPM Raflatac expects major synergies from the acquisition, combining Metamark’s product portfolio with its sales and distribution network to strengthen its presence beyond Europe. The company aims to scale up its graphics segment as a core part of its business.
