URBAS Energietechnik breaks ground on biomass cogeneration power plant in Novi Pazar, Serbia

The ground-breaking ceremony for the new biomass cogeneration power plant took place in the Serbian town of Novi Pazar. URBAS Energietechnik is building the EPC project funded by the German Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) as a general contractor.

The biomass cogeneration plant with an output of 8 MW is going to supply the town’s district heating network that used to be heated with heavy fuel.

It will be commissioned on 15 October of this year to render the district heat supply of Novi Pazar less dependent on fossil fuels.
