US Corrugated acquires Durango McKinley box plant

Oct 13, 2008. /Lesprom.com/. US Corrugated of Newark, New Jersey, acquires Durango McKinley’s full-service box plant in Mesquite, Texas, Converting Magazine reported. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We are pleased to have the opportunity to add these world-class assets to our converting system,” said Dennis Mehiel, chairman and CEO for US Corrugated. “We already operate a successful sheet-feeder in Ft. Worth, but an important part of our strategy is to project full box-making capability into most major US markets. We could not have found a better fit for the Southwest.”
US Corrugated is an independent converter that produces more than 600 thousand tons of packaging at its 22 corrugated facilities. Corporation Durango is Latin America’s leading containerboard and corrugated packaging producer, operating 38 manufacturing facilities throughout Mexico.
