U.S. 30-year mortgage rate rises to 6.37% from 6.30%

U.S. 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 6.37% as of May 7, 2026, up from 6.30% the previous week, according to Freddie Mac. The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 5.72%, compared with 5.64% a week earlier.

A year ago, the 30-year FRM stood at 6.76%, while the 15-year FRM averaged 5.89%.
