In October 2024, domestic prices for densified biomass fuel averaged $236 per ton, increasing by 1.8% from September's $232 per ton and 3.2% higher than October 2023's $229 per ton, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
Production reached 0.93 million tons, an 8.1% increase from September’s 0.86 million tons but 5.1% lower than the 0.98 million tons produced in October 2023. Manufacturers purchased 1.88 million tons of raw biomass feedstock, while sales totaled 0.95 million tons, including 0.19 million tons for domestic sales and 0.75 million tons for export.
