U.S. boxboard production in Q3 2023 decreased 17% compared to Q3 2022. The boxboard operating rate was 82.3%, down 12.0 points from Q3 2022, according to the American Forest & Paper Association.
Solid bleached boxboard operating rate was 80.3%, down 9.7 points year-to-date.
Recycled boxboard-uncoated (not incl. gypsum) production was down 12% when compared to the same 9 months of 2022.
Unbleached kraft & gypsum production in Q3 2023 decreased 10% when compared to the same 9 months of 2022. The operating rate was 87.2%.
