U.S. boxboard production in June 2018 increased 3.6% when compared to June 2017 and decreased 3.1% from last month, as the American Forest & Paper Association reported.
Unbleached kraft boxboard production increased over the same month a year ago but decreased compared to last month. Total solid bleached boxboard & liner production increased when compared to June 2017 but decreased compared to last month.
At the close of the 2Q, all boxboard sectors - unbleached kraft boxboard, solid bleached boxboard & liner and recycled boxboard - enjoyed a higher operating rate compared to last year.
