U.S. cabinet sales fall 5.6% in September

Cabinet manufacturers in the U.S. reported total sales of $190.9 million in September 2025, marking a 5.6% decrease from $202.2 million in September 2024. The largest decline came from semi-custom cabinet sales, which dropped 6.7% to $107.4 million. Custom cabinet sales fell 5.5% to $53.8 million, while stock cabinet sales edged down 1.2% to $29.7 million. Total cabinet quantity shipped fell to 492.4 thousand units, an 8.7% year-on-year decrease, according to the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association.

Cumulative sales for the first nine months of 2025 reached $1.76 billion, down 6.5% from $1.88 billion in the same period of 2024. Stock cabinet sales recorded the sharpest year-to-date drop at 12.7%, totaling $280.9 million. Custom sales decreased 5.8% to $476.8 million, while semi-custom sales declined 4.9% to $1 billion. Cabinet quantity shipped from January through September 2025 stood at 4.96 million units, down 13.4% from the previous year. The association estimates the overall market for September at $1.83 billion in sales and 4.8 million cabinets.
