U.S. containerboard production up 2% in June

U.S. containerboard production in June 2018 was up 2% compared to June 2017 and up 1% year-to-date. The month-over-month average daily production compared to May 2018 was 1.2% higher, as the American Forest & Paper Association reported.

The containerboard operating rate was 96.8%, 0.2 percentage points higher than the same month last year. Production for export was 7.1% higher than June 2017, which had the lowest export production in 2017, and was 3.5% lower year-to-date.
