U.S. packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments in October 2020 increased 4% compared to October 2019. They were up 4% when compared to the same 10 months of 2019, as the American Forest & Paper Association reported.
The operating rate was 86.1%, down 2.5 points from October 2019 and essentially flat (-0.4 pts.) year-to-date.
Mill inventories at the end of October 2020 remained essentially flat (-765 short tons) from the previous month, and were up 17,000 short tons compared to October 2019.
