U.S. packaging papers shipments in October 2018 were up 7.2% compared to October 2017 and up 3.1% year-to-date. The operating rate for October remained essentially flat at 95.6% compared to 95.9% in September. Inventories dropped 1.2% since September and were 5.3% lower than the same month last year.

U.S. packaging papers shipments up 7.2% in October

U.S. packaging papers shipments in October 2018 were up 7.2% compared to October 2017 and up 3.1% year-to-date, as the American Forest & Paper Association reported.

Bag & Sack shipments were up 6% year-to-date; Multiwall shipments were up 0.9%; Converting shipments were up 0.7%; and Food Wrapping shipments were up 2.5%.
