US purchases of total printing-writing papers fell 14% in January compared to January 2025, using trade data from the US Census Bureau. Across the three major printing-writing categories – uncoated free sheet, coated free sheet, and mechanical – net imports declined 16% in January versus the same month last year.
Uncoated free sheet net imports fell 15%, coated free sheet net imports declined 19%, and mechanical net imports dropped 15% in January compared to the prior-year period.
