Dec 07, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. Existing Forest Code of Ukraine doesn’t ensure forests conservancy because it doesn’t have clear division on categories, deputy chairman of parliamentary committee on ecological policy, nature management and liquidation of consequences of Chernobyl disaster, people’s deputy from bloc of Yulia Timoshenko Alexander Kovtunenko thinks. “In the document that we currently use everything is stated too skin-deep and in general, what can result in dittology of this form of statute. Even in the previous redaction of Forest Code of Ukraine criteria of division of forests on categories were stated much more broadly and exactly,” Kovtunenko said. He also noted that from year to year reduction of forest ranges is stated. In his opinion, to settle a query by law it’s necessary to move an amendment in Forest Code, which will foresee clear definition of criteria for division of forests on categories.
