Uniboard's Quebec plant earns FSC certification

Uniboard, a subsidiary of Pfleiderer AG, has had its Canadian fiberboard plant in Mont-Laurier, Québec, certified in accordance with the rules of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. With the certification of the Mont-Laurier site, Uniboard is consistently pursuing the aims of sustainability: The Canadian Uniboard plants in Val-d’Or and Sayabec and the US facility in Fostoria (Ohio) and the particleboard plant in Moncure (North Carolina) have also received FSC certification. The Pfleiderer subsidiary Uniboard is one of the leading producers of engineered wood in North America. At its five sites, approximately 1,000 employees produce an average of 1.6 million cubic meters of particleboard, medium-density fiberboard and high-density fiberboard each year.
