Valmet has completed the change negotiations launched on November 10, 2025, concerning temporary layoffs in its Packaging and Paper Machines business unit and Global Supply unit in Finland, according to Valmet Oyj.
The discussions focused on measures to adjust production capacity and improve cost efficiency within these operations. Following the negotiations, Valmet retains the option to carry out temporary layoffs if necessary during the first half of 2026.
The possible layoffs would affect personnel in the Packaging and Paper Machines business unit, as well as staff at the machine workshop and foundry of the P&P Manufacturing unit in Jyväskylä, which operates under the Global Supply unit.
The negotiations involved more than 950 employees across all staff groups in Finland, primarily located in Jyväskylä, Tikkurila in Vantaa, and Raisio. Valmet employs about 19,000 people worldwide, including approximately 6,000 in Finland.
