Vida will phase out production at its Vida Gransjö facility in Sweden during the spring of 2026, consolidating operations into other upgraded sites within the group. The decision follows increased drying capacity at its Vimmerby and Mörlunda sawmills and the upcoming launch of a new planing mill at its Bruza sawmill in the Q2 2026, according to Vida.
Roughly 80% of the volumes previously processed at Gransjö will be transferred to the new Bruza planing mill. The remaining volume will be absorbed by the expanded drying capacities at Vida's other sawmills. The move is expected to reduce internal transport and lower the group's environmental footprint. Vida stated it will support the 13 affected employees, with several positions available at its facility in Orrefors.
