Voith Paper Automation to supply sheet break analysis system for StoraEnso mill Kabel
Dec 09, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. Voith Paper Automation has been commissioned by StoraEnso Kabel GmbH & Co. KG to supply a sheet break analysis system for the paper machine 5 and the coating machine 5. The OnV WebVision system is used to analyse the cause of sheet breaks by monitoring the paper web with the aid of installed cameras.
At StoraEnso Kabel a total of eight colour cameras with lighting are fitted to PM 5 and seven to CM 5 so that the entire production line can be checked. Also, 17 additional connecting positions are planned at critical points in the process in order to allow the cameras to be positioned where they are required.
Furthermore, the supply also contains a control centre, two operator stations as well as four
real-time monitors with which the operator can simultaneously keep up to four different camera images per monitor in view. The camera will be remotely controlled by a light wave cable, which is of advantage particularly at places that are difficult to access. Through the set-up of a remote access server, fast support by Voith Paper Automation is also possible if any problems occur.
On the papermaker side the decisive factor for the order was, in addition to the technological advantages of the OnV WebVision System, above all the good co-operation with Voith Paper Automation with the previous order for the OnQ Quality Control System.
The Kabel mill, with a capacity of 600 000 t/year, is one of the most effective production facilities of StoraEnso. It concentrates on the production of high-quality, wood-containing, coated printing papers in rolls and cut-sizes. The products are deployed in, among other things, the production process of magazines, mail-order catalogues and other advertising matter. They are also used in the production of school books, brochures, picture books, wall calendars and letterheads.
Voith Paper is a division of the Voith Group and one of the leading partners to the paper industry. More than one third of the world's paper production is produced on Voith Paper machines.
Voith sets standards in the paper, energy, mobility and service markets. Founded on January 1, 1867, it has a current workforce of 30 000, sales of Euro 3.5 billion and over 200 locations worldwide, and is one of the largest family-owned enterprises in Europe.
