Woodgrain Inc. will permanently close its sawmill in Pilot Rock, Oregon, affecting 62 employees, as stated in a notice filed with state officials. The facility, located at 600 NW Cedar Street, will cease operations on or after September 1, 2025, with no bumping rights for affected non-union employees, according to Woodgrain Inc.

The company plans to consolidate operations with its sawmill in La Grande, also in Oregon. Woodgrain said it will assist workers in transitioning and is encouraging them to consider opportunities at other company sites. The company acquired the Pilot Rock and La Grande mills in 2018 from Boise Cascade.
