Wuzhou Special Paper (Jiangxi) Co. Ltd. is investing in a new greenfield pulp mill in Hukou County, Jiujiang City, China to supply its existing paper machines with a self-sufficient source of pulp, according to the technology supplier Andritz.
Start-up is scheduled for the Q1 2027. The mill’s core equipment includes a complete fiberline with LoSolids continuous cooking, brown stock washing, screening, two-stage oxygen delignification, and a four-stage ECF bleaching plant.

The scope also covers a recovery boiler with steam parameters of 515°C and 105 bar(g) after the superheaters, a white liquor plant with integrated gasification, a biomass gasification plant with a circulating fluidized bed (CFB) gasifier, an ash re-crystallization (ARC) system using evaporative crystallization with mechanical vapor recompression (MVR), and a mill-wide non-condensable gas (NCG) system with a dedicated low-NOx boiler.
The facility will produce pulp to support the company’s food packaging paper, glassine, and tracing paper operations. The investment is intended to strengthen cost competitiveness and reduce reliance on external pulp sources.
