Yusen Group plans to install three new tissue machines at its mills in Tai’an, Liaoning Province, and Chongxin, Gansu Province, to increase output of facial and toilet tissue for the Chinese domestic market and expand its high-end tissue products. The new lines are scheduled to start up at the end of 2026 and the beginning of 2027, Valmet, a supplier of tissue-making technology and services, announced.

Each machine is an IntelliTissue 1600 line designed for a 3,500 mm width and a design speed of 1,650 m/min, with annual capacity of 30 thousand tonnes per machine, taking planned added capacity to 90 thousand tonnes a year across the three lines. The machines will produce tissue paper in a basis weight range of 10–25 g/m2.

The supply scope includes the tissue machines, mechanical drive systems, steam and condensate systems, and auxiliary systems. The supplier will also provide installation, start-up, and commissioning guidance services.
