In 2023, the Södra Group’s net sales amounted to SEK 28,896 million ($2.7 billion), compared to SEK 33,367 million ($3.2 million) in 2022. Operating profit totalled SEK 2,226 million ($213 million).
Södra Wood’s units in Åtvidaberg and Ramkvilla will be closed down. The unit in Klevshult will be converted to a processing unit developed towards planing and the sawmill operations will be discontinued. Parts of Södra’s unit in Torsås will be closed down and the remainder put up for sale.
As the company notes, good demand for logs remains.
Södra has accepted the corporate fine and will pay it.
RemaSawco receives an order from Södra to upgrade four sawmills for approximately SEK 20.7 million ($2 million). Delivery, installation and commissioning will take place gradually during 2024.
