A&R Carton invests in its Lund unit

Oct 13, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. A&R Carton has finalised the closure of its production unit in Skjeberg, Norway. All production has been moved to more efficient and specialized A&R Carton units in Sweden, Estonia and Germany, company said in a statement received by Lesprom Network.
The service to the Norwegian market will be maintained by a sales office and warehouse in Skjeberg. Kjell Hammerstad is responsible for the Norwegian office.
The production unit in Lund, which is currently A&R Carton's largest, with a turnover this year of about Euro 50 million, has taken over some of the Norweigian production. The investments were mainly made to absorb the last years growth of 150% on export markets.

"In Lund, investments of Euro 9 million has been made over the past two years," says Jörgen Bergengrip, new plant manager in Lund.
In addition to the plant structure investments in the Nordic countries, A&R Carton has built up an Innovation Room to meet the market need for new products. Ralf Mack, formally from the Business Area Branded Packaging, has been appointed Group Innovation and New Product Development Manager.
