Bankrupt American Tissue Inc., once the fourth-largest U.S. tissue maker, and four former officials have been accused of fraud by federal authorities, who said banks and investors lost almost US$300-million in the company's collapse. Brendon McDonald, a former auditor for Arthur Andersen LLP, was also charged with obstruction of justice based on allegations he played a role in shredding documents to block the criminal probe of the company, authorities said yesterday.
