Sep 20, 2013. /Lesprom Network/. Sandra Van Ert, Appleton Coated president and CEO, has resigned effective September 30. Douglas Osterberg, Appleton Coated’s head of Research and Development, named to succeed current CEO, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network

Sandy began her career with the company over 25 years ago, eventually becoming the company’s CFO in 2000 and then its president and chief executive in 2010.

Douglas Osterberg has worked extensively throughout the company’s operations and with customers throughout his 34 years with the company. Doug was instrumental in the company’s launch of its coated freesheet business in 1995, and has more recently led the company’s successful transition into several new product areas including coated inkjet papers.

Douglas Osterberg stated, “I appreciate all that Sandy has accomplished during her tenure including advancing the recently announced cost restructuring project. We are positioning Appleton Coated to better serve its customers in the future, and I am excited to be leading the company forward.”

Appleton Coated, with approximately 600 employees, has been operating in Combined Locks, Wisconsin since 1889. The company is a subsidiary of Arjowiggins SAS, a global leader in the production of high value-added creative and technical paper. Arjowiggins is a subsidiary of Sequana, headquartered in Paris, France.
