"This quarter, revenues were up 32% and 7%, respectively, compared to the third quarter 2005 and second quarter 2006, due to higher pulp sales volume (up 21% on the third quarter 2005 and up 3% on the second quarter 2006) and higher pulp prices (up 11% on the third quarter 2005 and up 4% on the second quarter 2006)<…> Despite the improvement in prices, the adjusted EBITDA margin was stable in relation to the second quarter 2006, because of the higher cash cost, before hedging gains, resulting mainly from the annual maintenance downtime at Barra do Riacho, our largest facility, and also because of an increase in administrative expenses, which have just peaked, due mainly to an advertising campaign.” Aracruz Celulose is a Brazilian company, the world’s leading producer of bleached eucalyptus pulp.
