May 31, 2014. /Lesprom Network/. An agreement was recently signed between Infor Forestry Institute and Arauco’s Forestry Business Area for the implementation of agro-forestry projects as part of the commitment to support small landowners who want to diversify land production, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

This initiative belongs to the “We’re Partners” (Somos socios) program developed by Arauco as part of their Shared Value strategy, whose objective is to generate business opportunities that meet the company’s interests as well as the interests of nearby communities. The program includes two lines of work: afforestation and production diversification, implementing training projects to support small landowners. The purpose of these projects it to optimize the use of their land in order to obtain greater economic benefits.

This agreement, which furthers production diversification, was signed by Fernando Rosselot, executive director of Infor, and Rigoberto Rojo, manager of Forestal Arauco Central Zone.

Patricio Eyzaguirre, Arauco’s Local Development assistant manager, explained that during past years the company has explored a number of shared value initiatives aimed at the implementation of programs that align the interests of society with those of the company, generating positive social and business impact.

“This is the way in which we’ve driven projects related to the community and the company’s development. “We’re Partners” is a shared value project that meets the need for timber and guides neighbors in production diversification, strengthening small landowners through Infor and other alliances”, he said.
