Jun 20, 2008. /Lesprom.com/. Barlinek starts skirting board production. The wood accessories line has been equipped with a set of modern machines. The current range is comprised of nearly 100 types of skirting boards made from coniferous wood, of various heights and widths, covered with veneers from about 20 varieties of Polish and exotic tree species (including beech, oak, ash, maple, alder, hornbeam, birch, walnut and sapele mahogany). The Barlinek production plan for 2008 in the skirting board range extends to 2.2 million linear metres, of which about 70% will be sold abroad. The main market demand is in the countries where Barlinek floor planks are marketed. These include: the Scandinavian countries, Germany, Russia and also the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Ukraine. The wood accessory line at Barlinek is the first, but not the last investment in this area. Considering the same distribution channels for floor planks as the skirting boards, the technology and raw materials possessed, the company plans to develop production for the markets with the greatest demand. Therefore in a year’s time launching of a similar plant is considered in Russia, which shall produce for the needs of the Russian, Ukrainian and Romanian markets. Barlinek S.A. is also considering the starting of a similar establishment in Romania.
