Governor Phil Bryant and officials from Biewer Lumber broke ground on new $85 million sawmill in Newton, Mississippi. The sawmill will create 125 jobs once operational.

Apr 15, 2016. /Lesprom Network/. Governor Phil Bryant and officials from Biewer Lumber broke ground on new $85 million sawmill in Newton, Mississippi. The sawmill will create 125 jobs once operational, as Mississippi Development Authority says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.
The Newton facility, which will officially be known as Biewer Sawmill-Newton LLC, will expand Biewer Lumber’s mill production into the South. The company currently operates four sawmills in the Midwest, as well as three lumber treating/distribution centers.
This project was first announced in December 2015. Production at the mill is slated to begin in early 2017.
