Tentatively scheduled from April 15 to May 19, the shut down is being blamed on market conditions, including the high value of the Canadian dollar, as ForestTalk reported. During the down time, some unionized personnel may be called in if orders come through. It was decided in fall 2009 that Bowater Mersey would run 50% of capacity, but since returning from the last shut down in October orders have been surprisingly busy.
