Apr 26, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. Brazilian paper and pulp producer Suzano Papel e Celulose on Tuesday raised its prices for hardwood pulp by $20 per metric ton for the European and North American markets, according to the Estado news agency. The new price for the European market will be $640 per metric ton, while the new price for the North American market will be $675 per metric ton. The new prices will be valid beginning May 1. Price rise was made because of continued heavy worldwide demand and a reduction in pulp production among traditional suppliers. Suzano Papel e Celulose is one of the largest integrated producers of pulp and paper in Latin America. It offers a broad range of pulp and paper products for the domestic and international markets, with leadership positions in key Brazilian markets. It has four product lines: eucalyptus pulp, coated and uncoated printing and writing paper, and paperboard.
