Pine sawnwood exports from Brazil in May rose 51% in value in May 2015 compared to May 2014, from $16.9 million to $25.5 million (73,300 cubic metres to 111,900 cubic metres). Tropical sawnwood exports also increased (+2.8%) in volume, from 28,400 cubic metres in May 2014 to 29,200 cubic metres in May 2015 (from $14.6 million to $14.8 million).

rose 51% in value in May 2015 compared to May 2014, from $16.9 million to $25.5
million (73,300 cubic metres to 111,900 cubic metres), ITTO reports.
Tropical sawnwood exports also increased
(+2.8%) in volume, from 28,400 cubic metres in May 2014 to 29,200 cubic metres in
May 2015 (from $14.6 million to $14.8 million).
On the other hand pine plywood exports
declined in May (-12.5% in value) with the volume of exports slipping from
109,000 cubic metres to 99,100 cubic metres, year on year.
In sharp contrast, tropical plywood
exports increased from just 3,000 cubic metres in May 2014 to 9,500 cubic metres
in May this year.
However, there was a fall in wooden
furniture exports from $41.4 million in May 2014 to $38.7 million in May 2015,
a 6.5% drop.
