Grupo Empresarial ENCE has obtained environmental authorisation from the Uruguayan Environmental Agency for its pulp, energy and port project in Punta Pereira, Uruguay, Euwid pulp and paper reported. ENCE said that the authorisation is a decisive step forward in the process of completing its business plan for the 2007-2011 period. The project includes the construction of a pulp mill with a capacity of about one million tons, production of roughly one million MWh of renewable energy from biomass as well as the construction of a new port terminal. ENCE is expecting the new pulp mill to begin start-up trials in the second half of 2010. ENCE is an Iberian and American integral wood-transforming forest company.
