Feb 16, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. Fraser Papers Inc. will take two weeks of market-related downtime at its pulp mill operations in Edmundston, New Brunswick, effective February 23, 2009, the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network.
The Edmundston pulp mill produces sulphite and groundwood pulp for the Company's integrated paper mill in Madawaska, Maine, where the Company continues to rotate downtime across its six specialty paper machines in order to match customer orders with production. The Edmundston biomass cogeneration facility will operate through this period providing steam to the paper mill and electrical power to the New Brunswick grid.
