The сompany generated an EBITDA loss of $19.7 million in 2009 compared to an EBITDA loss of $12.8 million in 2008. Net loss for 2009 amounted to $231.8 million, compared to a loss of $71.9 million in 2008, company said in a statement received by Lesprom Network. During the 4Q 2009, Fraser Papers recorded a loss on write down of $105 million of assets held for sale and an impairment charge of $13.1 million related to its preferred share interest in Katahdin. During the 3Q 2009 the c ompany recorded an impairment charge of $42.0 million related to its pulp mill in Thurso, Quebec which was closed indefinitely on June 5, 2009. Fraser Papers produces a broad range of uncoated freesheet papers for converting, publishing and industrial towel applications.
