May 23, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. GL&V USA Inc, a subsidiary of the Canadian based company Groupe Laperrière & Verreault Inc., secured an order totaling over CAD3,2 million ($2,5 million) with Interstate Paper LLC, for their Riceboro mill in Georgia, U.S.A.
The order includes 4 new 46” DD®6000 refiners, introduced to the Pulp and Paper market earlier this year, and 3 new Coru-Dek IV® vacuum washers. The DD®6000 refiners, the latest offering in the DD series, were selected to improve pulp strength and reduce energy consumption and maintenance costs. The Coru-Dek® vacuum filters are to replace a smaller line of washers, to increase the capacity to 900 tons per day and improve wash efficiency. The new washers will be designed to utilize the same installation footprint, even though they are larger in size and capacity. GL&V will also provide engineering supervision during installation and commissioning on the project. Delivery and installation are scheduled for completion in November 2005.“We are very pleased with this second order for our new DD®6000 refiner in such a short period of time (the first one was received in Sweden during February). This proves the need for a new and more efficient refiner and the confidence in GL&V’s know-how in the pulp and paper industry is being recognized” commented Kent Albert, Refiner Product Manager, GL&V USA Inc.
