May 29, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. Gapro, which is part of the Södra forestry group, is buying all the shares of wood processing company Nordingrå Trä AB. The acquisition is effective from May 29, Södra said in a statement received by Lesprom Network. Nordingrå Trä, with 7 employees, is based in Bönhamn on the High Coast (part of the northern Swedish coast on the Gulf of Bothnia) and is specialised in the production of turned posts and other pine components. The company had revenues of SEK 8 million ($1 million) last year and primarily sells to Scandinavian building merchants. “We wish to broaden our product range to the building trade. This acquisition gives us a welcome complement to our product range,” says Gapro President Håkan Svensson. Nordingrå Trä’s product range will be integrated with the Gapro range during the autumn. “There is also an interesting possibility to expand Nordingrå Trä’s current range to include hardwood,” says Håkan Svensson. Gapro is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Södra specialising in mouldings, panelling and flooring for the Scandinavian building trade and wood industry. The Gapro group had sales last year of SEK 870 million ($115 million) and has 340 employees. The company has 11 production plants in Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
