Jul 16, 2007. /Lesprom Network/. Hilding Anders has acquired all shares in the bed producer Timbo, located in Lusigny Sur Barse, east of Paris. The company's net sales 2006 amounted to SEK 160 million. The acquisition of Timbo strengthens Hilding Anders' position in France. Timbo was founded in 1983 and has grown to become one of the main bed producers in France. The company is operating within all segments for bed frames and will support Hilding Anders' French bedding companies Andre Renault and Wifor with their bed base collections. "As France is one of Hilding Anders' core markets it is important for us to secure and strengthen our market position there, says Anders Palsson, President and CEO of Hilding Anders. With Timbo in our Group we will be able to develop strong concepts and exclusive models for customers in the European market." Timbo is the forth acquisition made by Hilding Anders during 2007, and is a part of an extensive expansion strategy. "Hilding Anders has a clear goal of expanding to become one of the world's largest bed and mattress manufacturers, continues Anders Palsson. By increasing our market share in one of Europe's biggest markets we act in line with that strategy," Anders Palsson concludes. Hilding Anders was founded 1939 in Bjarnum, Sweden. The company has since then grown considerably and is today the leading bed and mattress manufacturer in Europe and Asia. The main office is now located in Malmo, Sweden and the group is owned by the British investment company Candover. Through ca 30 subsidiaries, Hilding Anders owns some 10 strong European and Asian bed brands and holds extensive production for several well-known international furniture department stores. The group has approximately 4000 employees and is effective on 23 European and 9 Asian markets. The turnover 2006 was estimated to SEK 5,6 billion pro forma.
