Swedish IKEA, one of the world’s largest furniture and domestic articles producers and sellers, intends to boost commercial production 8,5 times in Russia, Interfax reported quoting IKEA deputy-CEO Gerhard Eggert. Presently 16% of IKEA goods on sale in Russia are produced within the country, while the remaining amount is imported, IKEA spokesman said during a meeting with Federal State Customs committee profits department chief Elchin Safarov. The company expects to boost this rate to 30% within 2 years. According to State Customs Committee, IKEA reported production in Russia at $70 million, including furniture - $55 million. According to Gerhard Eggert, IKEA production in Russia will increase to $600 million, including furniture - $400 million within 5 years.
