IKO Industries Ltd. plans to sell off the equipment associated with its paper production mill, one of several manufacturing facilities located at its Brampton Ontario production complex, as Branschnyheter informed Lesprom Network. The felt mill produced various grades of paper felt used in the production of asphalt roofing shingles and asphalt saturated rolled paper products. It was decommissioned in early 2009 as consumers switched away from organic (paper based) shingles to fiberglass based shingles, which are produced at the Brampton complex. The IKO group of companies is a global leader in the manufacture and supply of commercial and residential roofing products.
