International Paper to invest in Chinese joint venture
China Sun Paper Industry Co. has signed a deal with American International Paper Co. to set up a joint venture in Shandong province. The two parties will invest $480 million to set up a joint venture.
Sep 12, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. China Sun Paper Industry Joint Stock Co. has signed a deal with American International Paper Co. to set up a joint venture in Shandong province. The two parties will invest $480 million to set up a joint venture in the eastern city of Yanzhou, the local paper maker said in a statement on its Web site.
A person at the office of Sun Paper's general manager said the deal was signed August 30. She declined to be named. Officials from International Paper couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
International Paper is a forest products, paper and packaging company. Sun Paper produces high-end paper products.
