Investments in the reorganization of Baikalsky pulp and paper enterprise (owned by Continental Management) reached RUR 5,8 million in 2001-2003, Continental Management public-affairs reported. The reorganization of Baikalsky is provided in 3 main directions: the installation of a closed water circulation, the increasing of environment safety of the enterprise and the diversification of the production by bringing it to the international environmental safety standards. Besides, the enterprise will soon produce potassium fertilizers of the production waste. The enterprise will also reorganize the installed filters in order to boost the environmental safety. The main goal the enterprise is due to reach is to stop the poisonous dumping into the underground waters.
