Feb 24, 2014. /Lesprom Network/. Jyrki Kangas, the Director General of Metsähallitus, will be leaving his post on March 1, 2014. Forestry Director Jussi Kumpula will be in charge of Director General duties from 1 March onwards until a new Director General has been elected, as Metsähallitus said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Arto Tiitinen, Chairman of the Board, says that Metsähallitus has developed significantly during the seven years that Jyrki Kangas was Director General.

The new Director General will take responsibility for preparing the new operating model that conforms with the new law and for achieving the targets set by the State-shareholder.

Metsähallitus is a state-owned enterprise in Finland. The tasks of Metsähallitus are to manage most of the protected areas of Finland and to supply wood to the country's forest industry.
