On May, 31-June, 2 Kotlassky pulp and paper enterprise (Arkhangelsk region, Russia, owned by Ilim Pulp) carried out a suprevisory audit to approve its compliance with quality and environment management, corporate public-affairs announced. ISO 9001 quality management (2000 version) audit has been carried out for the 3rd timer, therefore recertification will be carried out in March 2006. Environment management has been checked for the 2nd time in compliance with ISO 14001 (1996 version). BVQI auditors carried out the audit. ‘It is most important to us to make sure that the enterprise has worked out a systematic approach – the enterprise is conducting regular analysis of operation, estimates the status and introduces the necessary modifications’ BVQI leading auditor Vladimir Lontsikh said. He added that annual audit checks are a standard working process improving management systems and confirming the compliance with the standard. On June, 2 during the annual meeting the auditors rated high the system of quality and environment management and approved the previously obtained certificates. The auditors also reminded that the further environmental audits will be carried out in compliance with the environment standard approved in 2004. Therefore a number of modifications in the existing management system will be introduced.
