Jan 29, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. Kruger Inc. will extend the shutdown of paper machine No. 3 at its Wayagamack mill in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada for a period of five weeks starting February 23, 2010, as PaperAge reported.
Montreal-based Kruger, in a written statement, said it came to this decision due to ongoing weak market conditions such as the high value of the Canadian dollar and shrinking demand for directory paper.
PM 3 was shut down on December 31, 2009 and was initially planned to restart on February 23. Production is now planned to resume on March 31, 2010, Kruger said.
PM 3 has the capacity to produce about 74,000 m/tpy of directory paper.
