Nov 17, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. German chemicals company Lanxess AG is in talks with strategic financial investors over a sale of its paper chemicals unit, the company's chief executive said Thursday. "We still want to bring our paper chemicals unit into a bigger context," Axel Heitmann said. "We are in intensive talks with strategic and financial investors," he added. Mr. Heitmann also said, the paper chemicals business is developing fine and predicted a positive development for 2006. Lanxess also later reaffirmed its previously-given sales guidance. "We are sticking to our sales guidance of a slight increase versus 2004 sales," chief executive Axel Heitmann said. Sales in 2004 reached Euro 6.77 billion. For the fourth quarter, Lanxess expects earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, or EBITDA, above the previous year's level.
