Feb 10, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. Malaysian Rimbunan Hijau Group cancelled the project it was intended to fulfill in Irkutsk region. The project envisaged the openinig of a timber enterprise in Kirensky district and the construction of a timber-processing in Ust-Kutsky district. According to Irkutsk region deputy governor on timber sector and timber-processing industry Georgy Trifonov, the company cancelled the project due to economic circumstances. Rimbunan Hijau Group analysts caluclated that the project would not bring sufficient profits. In late January 2005 Malaysian specialists paid a visit to Irkutsk. The members of the delegations revealed their estimations and announced that the fulfillment of the previously agreed project would not be economically attractive for the company.
