Mondi BusinessPaper group announced on Friday it is selling its paper mill in Dunaujvaros, south of Budapest, to Austria's Trierenberg Holding for an undisclosed price. Because of a glut on the market, Mondi Business Paper decided to sell the mill and focus instead on expanding its other paper mill in Hungary, in Szolnok (SE Hungary). Trierenberg Holding already has a paper plant in Dunaujvaros, and is midway through a three-year, Euro 12 million capacity expansion. When the project is completed in 2006, Trierenberg will be able to produce a yearly 30,000 tonnes at the site. The plant Trierenberg is buying from Mondi Business Paper produced 100,000 tonnes of paper last year, slightly less than a year before. Trierenberg plans to take over most of the staff at the plant, according to the announcement Mondi Business Paper, earlier called Neusiedler, bought the two plants in Hungary in the mid-90s. The company has invested Euro 30 million in Hungary since, and plans to spend a further Euro 6.7 million in 2005.
