Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. announces that as of June 27 it will establish its Energy Business Division and set up its Energy Business Department within the new division in an organizational reform of the company. Nippon Paper Industries has been boosting development of businesses other than paper, and above all it has been promoting expansion of its energy business, in which it can leverage its strengths, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network.
Nippon Paper Industries had decided to newly introduce Japan’s first biomass power generation project utilizing 100% unused woody materials at Yatsushiro mill, and Shikoku’s largest mega-solar project in Komatsushima-shi, Tokushima in fiscal year 2014.
The Energy Business Department, previously under the Technical & Engineering Division, will be expanded significantly by creating an independent division. With this more agile organizational structure, Nippon Paper Industries will quickly and assuredly seize business opportunities and strengthen its efforts for further expansion of its energy business.
