PRT USA Inc. (PRT) announced that 14 years after opening its doors, the PRT Oregon nursery will get a new name. The ‘Oregon’ facility, located southeast of Hubbard, Oregon, was the first nursery PRT purchased in the PNW U.S. in 2004 and was aptly named ‘PRT Oregon,’ or ‘PRT OR’ for short.
However, with the acquisition of the previous Plum Creek/Weyerhaeuser facility in Cottage Grove, Oregon in February 2017, the old moniker for the Hubbard location had started to create a bit of confusion.
PRT Vice President Herb Markgraf commented: “With the acquisition of the Cottage Grove facility, PRT will take another step towards our goal of better serving our customers in the Pacific Northwest U.S. With two growing facilities in the PNW, it was time to properly differentiate between facilities and let our customers know that there are two PRT nurseries in Oregon. These two PRT nurseries (PRT Hubbard and PRT Cottage Grove), will allow PRT to solidify our market position of containerized forest seedlings in the PNW.”
PRT is North America’s largest producer of container-grown forest seedlings with capacity to custom grow more than 220 million seedlings across our network of nurseries located in Canada and the United States.
