Feb 21, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. Raute Oyj has received a major LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) machinery order from Finnforest Oyj for its LVL production unit in Punkaharju. The order exceeds Euro 10 million in value and is part of the Punkaharju LVL unit expansion started in 2000. The order includes e.g. the first automated LVL layup line installation in Europe. The Machinery deliveries and installations will take place by the end of 2005. Along with the new orders the annual capacity of the Punkaharju LVL unit increases by 60.000 cubic metres. By the capacity increase Finnforest matches up to the strongly rising demand for LVL. This new production line is the fifth Raute LVL line delivery to Finnforest and it will raise the company’s total LVL capacity to 220.000 cubic metres. The new order indicates Raute’s position as the leading technology supplier to the LVL industry. Over half of the global LVL production is manufactured by Raute technology.
